What is pixel out of control?



Pixel out of control rate refers to the proportion of the smallest imaging unit (pixel) of the display that is not working properly (out of control).

Two modes of pixel out-of-control



One is the blind spot, that is, the blind spot. It does not shine when it needs to be bright, which is called the blind spot.



The second is a constant bright spot, which is always on when it is not bright, which is called a constant bright spot. Generally, the composition of pixels includes 2R1G1B (2 red lights, 1 green LED Light module, and 1 blue light, the same applies to the following), 1R1G1B, 2R1G, 3R6G, and so on.



Out-of-control usually does not mean that the red, green, and blue lights in the same pixel are all out of control at the same time, but as long as one of the lights is out of control, we think that the pixel is out of control. For the sake of simplicity, we perform statistics and calculations of out-of-control pixels according to the primary colors of the LED display (ie, red, green, and blue), and take the maximum value as the pixel out-of-control rate of the display.



What should I do if the pixels of the LED full-color display are lost?



Generally, the common display pixel components are 2R1G1B (2 red lights, 1 green LED Light module and 1 blue light, the same as below) and 1R1G1B, and out of control is generally not the red, The green and blue lights are all out of control at the same time, but as long as one of the lights is out of control, we think that the pixel is out of control.



Therefore, it can be concluded that the main reason for the pixel out-of-control of the full-color LED display is the out-of-control of the LED lights. The main reasons for the failure of LED lights can be divided into two aspects: one is the poor quality of the LED itself; the other is the improper use of the method.



LED failure can not be found in the regular inspection and test of LED. Under severe conditions such as high temperature, low temperature, and rapid temperature changes, it is caused by the difference in thermal expansion coefficients of materials such as LED chips, epoxy resin, brackets, inner leads, bonding glue, PPA cups, etc., which cause different internal stresses. The mechanism of LED failure caused by electrostatic discharge is very complicated. Equipment, tools, utensils and human body may be charged with static electricity and discharge to it. Such static electricity can range from hundreds of volts to tens of thousands of volts. The discharge time is in the order of nanoseconds. Level.



If the blue-green tube fails, it is often caused by the breakdown of the LED-PN junction by electrostatic discharge. Due to the complicated production process of LED display screens, electrostatic discharge is difficult to prevent. Therefore, electrostatic protection must run through the entire production process.



In addition, in different occasions, the actual requirements for the pixel out-of-control rate are different. Full-color LED display indicators are required to be controlled within one percent; monochrome LED display indicators are required to be controlled within one-tenth. At present, there is no good solution for the pixels of the full-color LED display. It is recommended to contact your service provider and return to the factory for repair. If the repair cost is too high, you can consider replacing the defective module unit board.



At present, the domestic LED display screen will be aging (baking machine) before leaving the factory, and the LED lights of the out-of-control pixels will be repaired and replaced. Some individual manufacturers’ corporate standards require that no out-of-control pixels are allowed before leaving the factory, but this will inevitably increase the manufacturer’s manufacturing and maintenance costs and extend the delivery time.
